I am currently looking for full time employment. Since 2015 when I was Work Force Reduced, I and my family have tried to get an animated story produced. It is going much slower than expected and I find myself in a position where I need to rejoin the work force.
In my past career with HP I was an IT professional specializing in trouble shooting, resolving desktop issues and data integrity. I was involved in the design, configuration and implementation of a Distributed control system that greatly raised the efficiency of the NGL processing facilities he worked at and the Gas Cap Blowdown of the Leduc Field. I lead a team of desktop Support analysts, directed a multi-discipline team to work on issues with automated inventory increasing automated reporting by 25% and helped develop a remote solution group to deal with users issues without sending someone desk-side. I have been eyes and ears for the network and Wintel groups. In my previous role within HP, I bring my technical knowledge to Asset Management leveraging his different perspective to the issues and challenges that Asset management brings.
I have been involved, in my private life, with Social Media from the time i ran a Computer Bulletin Board in the Mid 80’s to the present where I am involved in simple web site design and site hosting promoting talented artists who need web exposure to further their artistic careers.
I volunteered with the Devon Adult Learning Centre as a treasurer and facilitator. I also volunteer for the Devon Citizens on Patrol Society and with the Northern Alberta Radio Club with their NARCPac SIG.
I have been a long time user of the windows operating system and Ubuntu Linux. I have also had experience with Unix and VMS. I have experience with SQL, php, perl scripting, HTML web page development and Visual Studio Visual Basic Web development.
I completed the Aerobotika UAV ground school in 2016 and as a result have my Restricted Operators Certificate (Aeronautical). I currently hold a RPAS Basic Pilots liscense I fly drones recreationally but hope to turn this into part time work as well.
I acquired my Amateur Radio Advanced certificate on Dec 17, 2017, in addition to the Basic with honours (VE6RWP) which I completed on May 31, 2017. I have completed the “Incident Command System” ICS-100 and ICS-200 training, as part of my ongoing effort to continually learn new things and develop different skill sets. As of May 30, 2018 I also completed the requirements for the Radio Amateurs of Canada Certified Emergency Coordinator (RAC CEC) designation. I am involved with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service.
